It just feels really greedy and like she's taking advantage of her fans/popularity to sell multiple copies of what is essentially the same exact book (no fan art, no sprayed edges, no exclusive cover, etc.-that is, nothing that would make having/displaying multiple copies special), give or take a chapter. It's not like she's hurting for sales in the first place she's probably one of the top-selling authors writing today. While I'm sure SJM, of course, is partly to blame for agreeing to do it, I assume that her publisher also has a lot to do with it-just like their re-designing the covers (and not to make them more aesthetically pleasing years after all books in the series have been released, à la Daughter of Smoke & Bone and the Lunar Chronicles), so people feel like they have to match all books in the series, was so obviously a money grab. So any tips for how I’d be able to see that bonus Azriel scene without have to buy a 4th copy of this book? I can literally just go to the store, sit in the stacks, and read Barnes and Nobel edition’s bonus chapter, but that’s not the case for the BAM copy. So how we gonna get that exclusive content? When SJM did a special target edition for ACOMAF I was able to find a pdf online of the bonus chapter on tumblr, but that was years later. We all want to read that exclusive content, but most of us do not want to pay for two copies of this book. (Which is really exciting because he and Elain are the only core characters who haven’t narrated in any of the books yet!) So here is the deal. The second is available at books a million and has an Azriel story in it. I live in the US so for me it’s gonna be at Barnes and Nobel. The first one has a Feyre Rhys scene in it which you can get from different places depending on where you live. SJM is releasing two different editions with bonus content. Ok so now that I’ve explained my reasons let’s talk about the special editions of A Court of Silver Flames. Especially when they are not the singed editions because those are sold out 😭 But I’m a college student who works a job for just above minimum wage, so know that it’s hard for me to justify dropping $60 on two additional copies of a book I already own multiple copies of. So it’s not like I didn’t pay for the book. I have pre ordered 3 different copies of this book already, one e book copy, one audiobook copy, and today I pre ordered the tour edition hard cover book. I know in the past this subreddit has had issues with people coming on and asking for free PDFs of SJMs books, which is fucked up, and that is not what I’m asking for.
